The surgery is one of the most common and easy way to remove Seborrheic Keratosis growths from our bodies. I recommended the surgery as a option in a few of my replies but I never had the chance to write an article about it, so here we are. Let’s discuss about Seborrheic Keratosis surgery in chronologic phases.
quick path to the main topics
1. Checking the Seborrheic Keratosis Growths
First of all the doctor will check your Seborrheic Keratosis growths to be sure that all of them are non-malignant growths. This procedure is very important because even is known that all Seborrheic Keratosis are non malignant growths, their look can easy be confounded with the malignant ones, and we won’t like to cut a malignant growth 🙂
2. A Few Things About the Surgery Itself
Before of all you should know that Seborrheic Keratosis surgery is a very easy one and the risks of doing it tend to be 0 for a healthy person. If you have any kind of health problems, don’t forget to tell your medic about them. I’m telling you those things to know what is waiting you, but don’t worry about that because all doctors need to follow a procedure before any surgery, so they are OBLIGATED to ask you some essential things about your health condition. So, don’t worry that you may forget to tell him something, he will ask all he need to know.
As I already told you, Seborrheic Keratosis surgery is a very easy one and the most of the doctors call it a “cosmetic surgery”. Depend by how many growths need to be removed, that can be done in one or two visits in surgery room. In general, in one surgery can be removed up to 50 Seborrheic Keratosis growths.
3. How is Seborrheic Keratosis Surgery Done?
In the most of the cases Seborrheic Keratosis are cuted with a surgical blade. Also, the laser can be used too for this surgery. I’m a bit old school and I prefer the blade, but you can choose what do you want. Both of them are great in the hands of a good doctor. You shouldn’t be afraid of the pain, because you won’t feel anything (you will get a local anesthesia).
A lot of people is worried about the bleeding and post surgery infections. You don’t have any reason to be worried about these because Seborrheic Keratosis are not very deeper on the skin, so the only thing that you will see after the surgery will be some little scars, that will go away in a few days or weeks.
4. Personal Opinions About Seborrheic Keratosis Surgery
If you are here looking by informations about Seborrheic Keratosis surgery, I guess you already know how unpleasant and unaesthetic these growths can be. There are no medical reasons to remove them, just cosmetic ones but I will tell my point of view as short as I can: Seborrheic Keratosis on face, chest, scalp, legs or shoulders is not a very nice image nether for you and nether for another people that see you. So my point opinion is that Seborrheic Keratosis surgery (or any other removal option) is a MUST if you have a bit of respect for yourself, for your family, for people that see you every day and you don’t want to feel embarrassed every time when someone will see your growths.
